"Training to become a CLMA in the IMS Summer Program '00/'01
was a profound, transforming and integrating experience.
The body of knowledge is phenomenal, the faculty are master educators and the student community was an inspiration."

Lyndon Branaugh, Former Principal Dancer with
the Martha Graham Dance Company,
Currently Modern Dance Faculty at California Institute of the Arts.

"I have studied Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis for more
than 25 years, but it was during the IMS Certification Program
that I realized what tools for personal growth that system can
provide. The faculty are master teachers and my life has been
deeply and permanently enriched by the experiences they provided."

Bill Evans, Artistic Director, Bill Evans Dance Company
and Summer Dance Intensives, Professor of Dance,
University of New Mexico.

Participants in the IMS Programs are professionals in a variety of fields. Each cohort is enriched by
the range of perspectives that the participants bring to the learning community. Since an understanding
of movement is fundamental to many professional applications, an important aspect of the certificate training program is the integration of the Laban/Bartenieff material with one's individual area of expertise. Many participants speak to the transformative power of the work, in both personal and
professional arenas.

Graduates of IMS programs are:

Dancers, Choreographers, Body Workers, Physical Therapists, Counselors,
Psychotherapists, Fitness Trainers, Coaches, Actors, Anthropologists, Ethnologists

Here is what some have said about their experience in the IMS programs:

I feel I have received the fullest, most complete humane education of my life in the IMS program.
What made this program so effective was the richness of the material and the instructors depth
of knowledge that they are so deeply and joyfully committed to sharing. The entire IMS experience was an enlivened,
embodied model for life at large and was truly transformational to me.

Marcia Nolte, SOMA Practitioner

"IMS is truly the most incredible movement education of my life. The training I received in IMS became immediately relevant
and integrated into my life as a dancer, movement educator and choreographer. It greatly expanded the meaning in each of
these identities. It also greatly expanded my career possibilities and job opportunities - immediately. I highly recommend IMS."

Susan Goldberg, Adjunct Instructor of Dance, University of California at Riverside, Performer, Choreographer

"The training in Laban Movement Analysis has been and continues to be one of the most important influences in my life.
I use it daily in my work as a massage and movement therapist, as well as in dance residencies. Janice, Peggy, Pam and Ed are fabulous,
a real team of caring, supportive leaders. I continue to be grateful to them for their wisdom and love."

Lawrence Hines, Somatic and Movement Therapist, Contact Improvisation Instructor, Ashville, NC

"The language of LMA has added new clarity and dynamics to my teaching. I feel I'm better equipped
with many more tools to help students explore and express themselves through movement."

Deirdre MacDonald, Faculty at Western Wyoming Community College

"The IMS program helped me create a bridge between my comfortable moving self and my uncomfortable verbal self."

Mary Middeler, Movement Therapist working with Developmentally Delayed Children

"I came to the IMS program looking for the deepening of my knowledge about movement in order to overcome some of
the difficulties I was having in training volleyball players from an early age to a top athletes status. I can say I got what I
was looking for! This program is not just about 'moving', it goes straight to the core of your being."

Enrique Pisani, International Volley Ball Coach, Belgium

"IMS gave me the opportunity to grow as a teacher, choreographer, and dancer. The faculty puts the creative process in
the forefront. It is the inroad to learning, speaking, moving, listening and writing in the classroom. What a wonderful experience to
be a part of such an enriched and complete educational process!"

Cadence Whittier, Assistant Professor in Dance ar Hobart and William Smith Colleges
