Core-Support-Partners.jpgIntegrated Movement Studies (IMS) offers introductory workshops in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis and Bartenieff Fundamentals in a variety of formats and locations. IMS also offers Post-Certification workshops for the professional development of graduates. For specific dates and content please see the list of upcoming events below or contact the faculty for details. IMS faculty are also available to design workshops for specific populations or in specific locations. If you are interested in hosting an IMS workshop in your community, please contact the faculty.

"Me and My Spine" 

Have you ever wondered what your posture is saying to others? Do you experience back pain? Are you interested in finding ways to relax, release, and find more mobility in your spine? 

Integrated Movement Studies is pleased to announce two upcoming workshops featuring Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies as the lens for exploring functional and expressive aspects of Spinal Patterning. Participants will learn from master instructors how to increase spinal mobiliy and stability. We will look at spinal anatomy and human development to explore the relationship between breath and core support as well as learn exercises and techniques to strengthen, relax and release.

 

Bartenieff Fundamentals Los Angeles Workshop: April 21 & 22, 2012

Location: Loyala Marymount University, Burns Fine Arts Center, BURNS studio 239 located at 1 LMU Drive, MS 8346, Los Angeles, CA 90045-2659 
Faculty: Ed Groff, CLMA and Janice Meaden, CLMA
Workshop fee: US$215

Daily Schedule for all participants:

  • Daily from 9am - 4pm with an hour lunch break

Bartenieff Fundamentals Berkeley Workshop: May 12 & 13, 2012

Location: In the beautiful Bancroft Dance Studio, UC Berkeley Campus 2401 Bancroft Ave., Berkeley, CA
Master Teachers: Peggy Hackney, CLMA and Janice Meaden, CLMA
Workshop fee: US$215

  • Saturday, 9am - 4pm and Sunday, 9am - 3pm, both with an hour lunch break
