Certification Programs are offered in two formats,
the Summer Intensive Format and the Weekend Format.
The Summer Intensive is offered in affiliation with the University of Utah and is held at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
The Weekend Format is offered in Los Angeles and in Berkeley California. In Los Angeles the program is offered in affiliation with Loyola Marymount University and is held on the
LMU campus in Los Angeles. A Weekend Format program will be offered in Berkeley beginning Fall 2007 in a venue to be announced. Please see below for each program currently being offered.



UTAH SUMMER INTENSIVE PROGRAM

The certification course is 16 weeks held over 14 months and is divided into three sessions.
A student must take part in all sessions.
Classes are held Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm daily.
During the interim sessions the student is expected to work on independent
assignments and projects.

2007-2008 Program

Session I:
Jun 17, - July 13, 2007 (4 weeks of classes, July 4th is off)
Break week: Jul 14 - Jul 24

July 25- August 10, 2007 (three weeks of classes)

Jan 2, 2008 - Jan 12, 2008 (There will be one day off during this time)

Los Angeles, CA

Session III:
Jun 15 - July 11, 2008 (4 weeks of classes, July 4th is off)

University Credit and Degrees:
This IMS program is sponsored by the University of Utah Department of Modern Dance,
which is renown for its excellence in the training of performers, choreographers, and dance
educators. All participants may elect up to 18 semester undergraduate/graduate credit
hours for the IMS program.

LOYOLA MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY WEEKEND FORMAT PROGRAM:

The weekend format meets one weekend per month within two academic calendar years for a total of 18 sessions. Three day weekends meet Friday evening 5:00-9:00pm, Saturday 8am-5:30pm and Sunday 8am-5:00pm. Four day weekends meet the first three days of the weekend 8am-5:30pm and the final day 8am-5:00pm. IMS Certification in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies, Loyola Marymount University Documentation of Continuing Education Credit and ISMETA (www.ismeta.org) professional registration requires 400 hours of class attendance. Classes on Friday Sept. 22, 2006 and Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 will be held from 12:30pm -9:00pm.
