ADMISSION

IMS welcomes individuals with diverse interests and backgrounds who are motivated to pursue
graduate level work in the field of movement studies. Professional dance or movement training is not
required, but experience in movement and a willingness to learn through movement is important.

IMS offers Introductory workshops in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis and Bartenieff Fundamentals,
which are open to all and require no application for admission. These workshops are recommended
but not required for admission into the Certification Programs. They provide an opportunity for a
prospective participant to experience the Laban/Bartenieff work and IMS methodologies.

A committee of IMS faculty will review applications to the Certificate Programs as they are received and students will be accepted into the program until the program is full. Upon notification of acceptance into the Certificate Program, a $500 non-refundable tuition deposit will be required to hold your place in the program This payment is credited towards your tuition and is due within two weeks of your acceptance into the program.

COSTS

Tuition for the Certification Program(s) is $9,000. Tuition for all programs is paid in installments
according to a standard plan. Individually designed payment schedules can be arranged for
an additional $150.00 administration fee.

Other program expenses:

$100 non-refundable application fee
$75 materials fee
$300 books and project documentation
individual travel expenses
room and board.
